Last week, the South Florida Network of Blacks in Philanthropy hosted over 100 young professionals at the Haitian Heritage Museum in an evening of power networking, designed to connect them with nonprofit organizations actively seeking board members, advisory members and volunteers. The event was an impactful and inspiring success hosted in partnership with the Young Professionals Network (YPN) of Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce, National Black MBA Association- South Florida Chapter, Urban League of Broward County Young Professionals Network, and the Women’s Fund of Miami-Dade.
We raised more than $500 for our host organization – Haitian Heritage Museum-, we increased awareness about local needs by connecting young professionals with the local nonprofit community, and we did it all in a really fun and unique way.
When you see the smiles on guests’ faces, when nonprofit leaders blurt out without prompting “this is amazing, thank you,” when your guest speaker gives you a spontaneous hug, and when nearly 90 folks leave the evening telling you they’re “looking forward to the next event,” you know you’ve done something right.
From everyone at the South Florida Network of Blacks in Philanthropy and YPN Miami, THANK YOU!
