YPN Spotlight: Andrew Yap of FIU’s Department of Management and International Business

Andrew P. Yap is an Instructor at FIU’s Department of Management and International Business (since 1997) and teaches courses in Strategic Management, Crisis Management, Environmental Management, Human Resource Management, International Management, Organizational Behavior and Managing Change in Organizations.

Professor Yap specializes in the areas of Small Business Management, Strategic
Business Plan Development, Crisis Management, and Managing Change in Organizations. His expertise and experience also includes designing and implementing turnaround strategies for companies in distress. He received his MBA from FIU in 1997 and has published more than 20 textbooks that include student study guides, instructor manuals and test banks for courses in marketing, management and international business.

Professor Yap was inducted into FIU’s Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame during 2004 and is also the President of LEASA Industries Co., Inc. (www.leasa.com), a family-owned and operated business established in 1977. The company focuses on social responsibility and manufactures and distributes health food products to more than 2,000 supermarket locations and food service institutions across the United States and the Caribbean.

An avid scuba diver, Professor Yap resides in Miami, FL with his family.
