On March 22nd, a group of members from the Miami-Dade Chamber’s Education Committee and YPN Miami volunteered their time to serve as judges at Miami Edison Senior High School’s Business Plan Competition for the Miami Herald Business Plan Challenge and the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE).  To quote Chris Bignolle of NFTE, “This is the largest judges’ panel I’ve ever seen at a school competition!” 9 judges total represented from the MDCC and YPN!

From H. Leigh Toney, Executive Director of the Carrie P. Meek Entrepreneurial Education Center at Miami Dade College:

“Ms. Mezadieu (teacher at Miami-Edison) told me that your feedback was needed, welcomed, and much appreciated; the benefit of your expertise is priceless to these young people!  As you can tell, our presence is needed in these schools – now more than ever and as I said on yesterday, you’ve all now been deputized as members of the Education Committee!  The work of the Chamber Education Committee is intertwined with the Urban Microentrepreneurs Initiative of the Miami Dade College, Meek Center, and Miami Edison Senior High’s Entrepreneurship Program is one of our two school partners.  Ms. Yolette Mezadieu, entrepreneurship teacher, is a tenacious, committee and talented teacher and a fantastic partner!”
