Director of Grants and Research – Health Choice Network of Florida seeks a Director of Grants and Research to be responsible for the overall oversight of the Grants and Research Program which includes identifying potential grant and contract funding sources, managing grant procurement strategy, grant writing, and proposal development services, providing technical assistance for post-award compliance, and reviewing and recommending initiatives to the Executive Team for collaboration with academic and community partners.  The Candidate will have superior knowledge of best practices in Federal and Non-Federal proposal development, grant writing, medical and/or technical writing, manuscript preparation and publication, and healthcare funding sources. POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the overall oversight of the Grants and Research Program which includes: (1) identifying potential grant and contract funding sources, (2) managing grant procurement strategy, grant writing, and proposal development services, (3) providing technical assistance for post-award compliance, and (4) reviewing and recommending initiatives to the Executive Team for collaboration with academic and community partners.

Other Core Duties include:
Supporting and encouraging others to support the Mission, Vision, Values and Goals of HCN. Develop and implement strategic plans to procure grant and contract funding. Partner with department staff to facilitate proposal development projects with internal and external
collaborators. Partner with department staff to provide technical assistance towards maintenance and regulatory compliance of grant and contract funding, (including research & human subjects). Develop and maintain systems and controls to ensure efficiency and effectiveness for prospecting, proposal development, and proposal submission activities. Provide staff with technical assistance in grant data management, evaluation and reporting. Establishing and writing grant and research policies and procedures.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: The Candidate will have superior knowledge of (1) best practices in Federal and Non-Federal proposal development, grant writing, medical and/or technical writing, manuscript preparation and publication, and healthcare funding sources; (2) Windows and Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

The Candidate will be a graduate of an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare or business related field, Master’s degree preferred, with a minimum of seven (7) years of grant seeking and writing experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, he or she must possess a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a relevant management or administrative position and must demonstrate experience in internet research and online application.

The ideal candidate should have experience in the Healthcare, Technology, or Community Health Center industries with a minimum of three (3) years experience in health care delivery. A Certified Grant Professional (GPC) or similar certification is a big plus. The position may require long weekday hours and some weekend hours as necessary and must be willing to travel locally outside of the office as required.
