Job Description

We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist to join the CompuPay team. The Business Development Specialist, reporting to the Senior Director, Business and Channel Development, will focus on prospecting of new partners (CPAs and Fortune 500 companies), account management, marketing plan creation and execution and coordination of special projects. The position requires creativity and the ability to multi-task within a busy department, as well as good judgment skills when reviewing potential opportunities and business decisions

Responsibilities:

— Partnering, prospecting and responding to incoming inquiries regarding CPAs and Fortune 500 companies that are candidates for offering payroll services and After Payroll Solutions

— Heavy cold calling into prospective partners (independent search online of possible channel partner candidates and acquisition of contact information by using lists, incoming website inquiries and other resources for cold calling)

— Partnering closely with sales team to identify channel partner opportunities

— Opening doors for conversations, working through proposal processes and negotiations, finalizing agreements and proceeding with partnership rollout through detailed schedule and listing of rollout events. Process may include over the phone or onsite presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint

— Account management of company’s key channel partners including development of marketing plans, execution of marketing activities to meet deadlines and grow business

— Schedule and/or lead structured meetings and calls to maintain client and partner relationship

— Report on statistics and trends

— Be responsible for writing projects and mock-ups of marketing tools

— Review and proof marketing collateral; light copyright work may be required

— Responsible for new ideas to keep relationships fresh and active

— Participate in partner-related projects such as trade shows, pricing audits, complimentary payroll program reviews, administrative office work, oversight and expansion of CompuPay’s Top Ten Partner Program and more – systems and tools to be provided to research and administer programs.

— Development and rollout of an industry roundtable group and continued expansion of the program to include organizing webinar events and discussions, creating agendas and thought provoking discussion items, maintaining meeting minutes and providing follow-up on outstanding questions, issues or innovative ideas that arise – May work with key contacts within sales, operations or product development to act on new ideas resulting from platform

 

Required Skills

— Moderate level of expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; most data maintained/tracked via Excel

— Project management/marketing plan creation and execution

— Ability to work independently with high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision

— Ability to attend trade shows which require an energetic, outgoing personality along with long days of standing

— Ability to provide persistent and detailed follow-up; must possess a sense of urgency

— Ability to travel approximately 10%

— Professional appearance and behavior

— Knowledge of HR, financial services, or payroll industry helpful but not required

 

Required Experience

— Minimum three (3) years successful sales and account management experience to include cold calling, prospecting and relationship management up to C-level suite with proven commitment to client service and ability to close new business opportunities

— Previous experience in coordinating or creating marketing collateral
